Well, I’m certainly curious when it comes to Micah Bell, and I’m glad to see that someone else is too! Micah certainly does have a nihilistic, darwinistic, dog-eat-dog world ideology, and given that his father taught him that “sympathy is for the weak”, it’s likeky that such an ideology was instilled in him by his father. As for Amos, we don’t know much about what he isn’t like (only that he and Micah have a poor relationship), so it’s impossible to say whether or not he shares this ideology. My guess would be that he did originally (the fact that he once rode with Micah would suggest this, as he too was likely mentored by his father), but he may have 'converted', which would seem logical as he moved to California and had a family, while cutting off links with Micah.

As for Micah’s father (Micah Bell Jr.), who would’ve been born circa 1838, it is very unlikely for me that he was killed by his son. In fact, pretty much impossible. Bell speaks fondly of his father and the two were partners-in-crime for many years, with his father being his mentor. I can see no reason whatsoever why Micah would’ve killed his father, and the reason why he fell out with Amos certainly wouldn’t be why: the fact that Amos used to ride with Micah would suggest that Amos was in a positive relationship with his father at one point, as he was likely taught and mentored by his father. However, Amos clearly renounced the ways of an outlaw (which is probably why he fell out, and no longer wanted any contact, with Micah. This could, of course, leave the possibility that Amos killed his father (as he would have likely fallen out with him, as opposed to his brother Micah, who probably admired their father and had a positive relationship with him), BUT I do not think that Micah Bell Jr. was killed by Amos, because Amos wanted to move away from a life of violence, not kill the man who mentored him. As for the death of Micah Bell Jr., he most likely died an outlaw’s death: he was probably either hanged for his crimes or simply shot dead in a skirmish somewhere - “Those who live by guns die by guns”, just like his son, Micah.

Micah was likely devastated by his father’s death, but as “sympathy is for the weak”, he may not show it. One thing, his revolvers say “vengeance is hereby mine”, which suggests that, at some point in his life, he wanted to take revenge. It could absolutely be the case that he used his trusty twin revolvers to kill the one who killed his father, thus explaining his father’s death despite their positive relationship and why the utterance is inscribed onto his revolver. One more thing, I’d be really curious to know who Micah’s mother was. The fact that Micah and his father were together would suggest that his father knew exactly who she was (explaining how he knew where to find his son after being born), but who was she exactly? Was she married to him? Did he steal their son from her? Did she die? What role did she play? Was her relationship with her son and boyfriend positive or negative? How much did Micah Bell III know her? I maintain that Micah is the most interesting character in the game by far, and I always enjoy a dis ussion about him.
