I can’t be the only one who’s curious about Micah Bell III and his childhood? He is purposely mysterious and vague about his past, It appears that his father Micah Bell Jr. (born. 1839), carried a nihilistic-darwinstic philosophy, a dog-eat-dog world where only the strong survive and the weak perish. Where all life is meaningless, there is no good or evil, just free will. An idealism that was taught and passed down from his father Micah Bell Sr. (born circa 1810s). He then pass this hate filled ideology down to his sons (Micah III and Amos). We do know that in 1877, him and his father were on the run for the brutal murder of Roscoe and Jean Briggs somewhere in Ohio, a bounty of $10 were placed on the father and son’s head. They were looking for temporary work on the ranch owned by the married couple. Either they weren’t satisfied with the payout, wasn’t fond of Mr. and Mrs Briggs, or they just did it out of sadistic pleasure. Micah Bell Jr. was wanted for murder in five counties “FIVE!”. It’s never said what happen to his father, my guess is that he either got captured or killed by his oldest son Micah. Giving the falling out Amos and Micah had prior to 1899. It wouldn’t be surprising that he did in fact kill his father. Some sort of sick generational thing, the passing of the torch. The hat Micah wears is most likely his father’s, similar to Arthur’s.

At a camp event in Shady Belle when Micah “opens up”. He mentions Amos being a coward and yellow as pisssed on snow. Said their father damn near killed his brother one time

You sure? When Micah says his father never suffered fools, damn near killed my brother one time” It sounds more like Amos getting beaten by their father than Micah doing it.

<p>The video you sent is interesting though, because it says a lot about Micah Bell Jr., the father of Micah and Amos. It says that he knew his father (Micah Bell Sr.; the grandfather of Micah and Amos), and it seems the relationship between the first two Micah Bells was positive, and that the younger did the same with in-game Micah (Micah Bell III). When Micah says that they were “a pair of wild horses”, it suggests that he knew his grandfather – the original Micah Bell.</p><p>

In his letter to his brother Micah, he speaks like an outlaw and his threats to kill him if he comes within 50 miles of him suggest that Amos is still a dangerous figure to cross. Micah does not go to visit Amos, neither to kill him nor to greet him/make amends etc. It is hard to say whether if this is because he genuinely fears for his life if he tries to approach Amos, or whether he simply does not wish to see him at all. However, I suspect the latter, given that Micah is only interested in his own life, and that Micah is himself an extremely dangerous man and one of the most formidable gunslingers in the land (imo). Amos would certainly be a great character to meet (hopefully a DLC of him, but we all know that won’t happen).</p>
