I didn't hate either. Not sure it made sense to play as John cause he wouldn't be running around, he'd just be focused on his family life. But I didn't hate it.

Made more sense with Jack. He had his whole life ahead of him, and he was trying to find who he wanted to be. Hopefully we'll find out.

Jack because he has knowledge and he could live a better life but not you wanted to follow in your father’s footsteps and kill agent Ross and becoming wanted, you could have had a better life
