When Javier first came to America, he was a refugee; he would’ve been captured or killed on sight if he returned to Mexico. After the gang collapses, he returns from exile and lives in Mexico once more. It’s unknown what year it is exactly, but at any point between 1899 and 1907.
However, what’s interesting to me is that he’s allegedly living in the mountains, suggesting that he might still be hiding from the law. The government by 1907 is, as far as we know, no different from when he left. Suddenly, in 1911, he’s working for the government, so something must’ve changed between then.
The revolution in 1910 saw Ignacio Sanchez usurp his brother and become the new president of Mexico, while Allende (an aide to Sanchez) becomes the Governor of Nuevo Paraíso - and Javier's employer. So, how did Javier’s go from being a very wanted man to a valuable government employee? What happened during the revolution for Javier to experience such a role reversal? He must have had some role in the revolution for this to happen, surely?
Given that Javier is a revolutionary, it’s quite plausible that he was involved in revolutionary activity and may have been a big part of the revolution, hence his close connection with Allende. Javier does not say anything about the revolution, but equally, it’s not mentioned much in Red Dead Redemption. I think it’s quite likely, but what do you guys think?
