She manipulated my mans. Do not care for her. Still did her missions for the role-play value for Arthur but still
I wanted to like her but her character just seemed like a plot device. Also she had like no personality outside of caring for her lousy family and judging everything Arthur did.
She wanted Arthur but she wanted to change him, which was wack. Kick rocks Mary.
Mary ran into some undeserved bad luck in her life, but I don’t think she was exactly an angel. She still appeared to hold Arthur in some disdain as an outlaw and wanted to change him. She never really apologised properly for her family’s treatment of Arthur and got defensive when Arthur criticised her father, despite his apathy for her.
She and Arthur did not suit each other - despite their feelings for one another - so I’m glad they didn’t get together. Still, Mary wasn’t evil either, and I actually liked how Arthur remembers her when he is dying, especially the “there’s a good man within you... but he is wrestling with a giant” quote, which, in a way, is quite a perceptive comment.
At first I wasn't too sure. I know that Mary knew what words to say to Arthur in order to convince him to help her (depending on the player). However there are two moments where I believe Mary's feelings for Arthur was genuine. The 1st time was when she asked Arthur to run away with her, when Arthur essentially turned her down I could see how hurt she was that her love continued on a treacherous path. The last time was when she visited Arthur's grave. Mary definitely took advantage of Arthur's kindness, but I believe those emotions were real because there was nothing for her to gain visiting a deadman. While I do believe Mary loved Arthur, that love wasn't enough.
