I kind I feel agree with you both: Tall Trees and Bayou Nwa are probably the scariest places. Tall Trees is especially scary in RDR 1, I think, with no law there at all - just bears and other vicious animals. The ambient music, as Petko mentioned, is really creepy as well. In RDR 2, there’s the Skinner Brothers around, with evidence of their sadism commonly found. It makes it seem quite spooky.
Bayou Nwa, meanwhile, is very unsettling. I think the fog is partly what makes it so, as you can never really see fully into the distance. Also, the presence of crocodiles - especially when this is combined with the fog cover - makes it even more creepy. There’s also the Night Folk and the swamp water, which are both dangerous. I’d say Bayou Nwa is overall is a little bit more scary at night.
The mansion of Tumbleweed in RDR 1 is like a haunted house, so that’s really spooky as well. The rest of the town isn’t so much, though.
Roinoke cause a can hunt
I love the bayou , especially at night ! It has a very spooky vibe .... like something or someone can jump you any moment . Anyway : does anyone know if these night folk stop spawning ?? I went back there multiple times to hunt those freaks in my last playthrough . Just went camping in the middle of the swamps . Killed a lot of them and I guess i drove the night folk to extinction??? Because I went back over and over and they seemed to be gone
There were some issues with the Night Folk encounters on the latest patches from what i have read. Plus if you have completed the mission with the old cajun called "A Fine Night for it", they don't show up again. So it's better to start the mission once you have completed all of the encounters.
I thought "A Fine Night for it" simply unlocked the compendium for the Night Folk.
So basically ... a “ you pledged genocide on the nite folk “ mention in the log wouldn’t be too far fetched !
@Phoenixskull295 I don't think there is anything in the compendium or in the pause menu about the Night Folk apart from showing that the mission has been completed.
@Roel The allmighty fair point! But i can't tell whether or not it says something on the log after you complete the mission.
@Petkoholic For clarity, I was referring to how completing the mission would allow the player to interact with them as "Night Folk" rather than "Stranger".
And when the gang arrived in lakay , it’s mentioned that Sadie and Charles chased the original inhabitants away ( which where probably the nightfolk .
The swamps of Lemoyne are very slimey and alligator filled but the night folk set it off. As well as tall trees. Y’all trees is a beautiful area but the skinners and murphee brood make it hell. The trees are red with blood but sometimes their is people hanging all over which makes y’all trees more scaries. But don’t get me wrong the silent night folk are TERRIFYING
What do you think?
