Does anyone else think that Dutch shot Micah at the end of American Venom because he felt bad for betraying his friend for over 20 years? Does anyone think that when John said Arthur saved my life more than once, Dutch finally "woke up"?

Why you keep praising Dutch? He was not there for killing Micah. Maybe he was hanging with Micah too? Or just pure coincidince you both came for Micah at same time? He just decided when he sees John because he is unstable whole game. He was there probably just for money. And no way Dutch shoots Micah and leaves that mountain alive w/o John clearing exit way. Dutch was trusting Micah whole game than anyone else even at first chapters. Idk why tho rockstars writing or unraveling some things is not that great.

I think it’s fine.
Dutch and Micah can been reunited for some time, as Dutch helped him recover the Blackwater money. However, I can’t see why Dutch would want Micah to have it considering that Micah betrayed him, suggesting that he had an ulterior motive, which I think is killing Micah.
Furthermore, Micah may well have killed Dutch had he stayed there for much longer. By then, Dutch was a liability: he was more charismatic than Micah, and probably made the latter paranoid that he’d try to usurp him, and Micah didn’t need Dutch after he had recovered the Blackwater money for him. Not only that, but if the law ever found out they were together, they’d see a two-birds-with-one-stone opportunity and almost certainly attack. Dutch’s presence was a risk to Micah, so I suspect Micah may have planned to kill him. What’s more, I think Dutch would’ve been aware of all this, which gave him another reason to plot to kill Micah - so that he could kill Micah before Micah could kill him.
I really don’t buy the idea that Dutch was Micah’s friend until John convinced him otherwise. Instead, I think that, because Dutch was shocked to see John and didn’t know what to think, he was testing John. This ended up being part of a ruse that allowed him to shoot Micah, but I think Dutch was merely trying to see if he should kill John as well, but decided not to.
@Wagman not going to lie that last part makes even more sense when you consider that John and Abigail may possibly have been rats too (before the Saint Denis robbery, the first few times they robbed Cornwall)
the look that Dutch gives him after they both shoot Micah says this
“I have a feeling you were a rat too, and I was about to shoot you. But you’re practically my son and you have a family and I would feel bad so lets just pretend this never happened.”
While Dutch is staring at John and walking away, John keeps saying thank you and is at a loss for words, he’s shocked that Dutch spared him.
@LoreEnthusiast naaah john was never a rat he was loyal from the beginning that’s because dutch saved his life took him fed him raised hime taught him how to read and how to shoot john always saw him as a mentor even after the epilogue when he meets Evelyn Miller he mentions dutch as his ^mentor^
Yeah, I don’t think John or Abigail ever betrayed the gang. Dutch was paranoid and believed they did. While the revelation of Micah’s betrayal may have lessened his suspicion of the Marstons to some extent, I don’t think he was totally convinced of their innocence.
@Sjt10 It still could have been Abigail and if John knew Abigail was snitching I bet he wouldn’t say anything to the others.
(RDR 1 spoilers)
Remember he eventually retires from crime life, becomes a bounty hunter, and captures or kills the remaining members including Dutch.
I personally don’t think it’s a stretch.
I’m going to make a new post with all my evidence.
I don’t think it’s a 100% fact that and it probably wasnt even written to be this way but there is a lot of evidence in my opinion pointing to John and Abigail being rats before Micah.
Dutch shot Micah because deep inside of his mind he knew Arthur was saying the truth besides he wanted to makes things right between him and John for betraying Arthur during the oil field shootout with the Military and leaving John in the Sisika Penitentiary
In fvd original game , Dutch was even more violent and had recruited indians for his new gang ... the army went after him for a reason
@LoreEnthusiast did you share your post about marstons betrayel with evidence?
What do you think?
