THIS Stranger encounter is def the most tedious, boring and irritating secondary mission in RDR2 the rewards aren't bad but going all the way just to get an unique revolver, fancy hat and money is wasted time in my opinion.

I actually thought it was pretty damn fun-completed the whole thing in about 2-3 hours. You get a neat revolver and a neat hat, as well as arthur's drawings of algernon. I'd say it was worth it.

All depends if you enjoy exploring and collecting. I liked collecting the orchids. Finding egrette plumes is a different story. The heron and spoonbills arent too bad though. If you’re going for 100% completion try to be on herbalist 9 when you start or else you’ll have to go back and collect one of each orchid all over again

Oh god... I’ve done it twice and it was ridiculous. The second time seemed a bit better, probably because I was more used to it. As I wanted to get it over and done with, I made sure that I had some kind of YouTube guide to show me where the orchids were, and it still took hours even then. The egret feathers are more difficult in some ways, as there’s no control over which birds appear.

Because Algernon’s Revolver is one of my favourite weapons in the game, I’d say it is worth it, but if I didn’t like that weapon (or that hat), then I don’t think it would be.

You wanna tip from me? Before you start the mession go on YouTube and see what feathers he need and go collect it before starting the mession because if you start it it will decrease the rate spawn of the animal’s it’s much more easier this way

Absolutely try to hunt and collect as much as you can before initiating the mission. As for if it's fun or not it depends if you're the collector type of player or not.

I enjoyed alot exploring the vast and beautiful world of RDR2 i really liked the cigarrete cards, treasure hunting, dreamcatchers, timetravel Rock carvings and Dinnosaur bones secondary missions these quests are very satisifing and rewarding for the players to complete unlike the extremely long and tedius exotics quest

If you enjoy exploring you will love it. Money is ok, but exploring nature and animals does it for me! Completing the 5th mission currently, and took me hours and days of playing to complete the first 4. I had to google and YouTube some hacks how to do it quicker and how to get birds to re-spawn.
