The best ending was going with John but to me, if yoyr honor was high you went back more to get revenge on micah. And the symbolism of Arthur cutting micahs eye out is awesome. But Arthur's death on top of the mountain peacefully was the best.
Helping John makes Arthur's death more fulfilling, ik either way ur helping John, but if u go back for the money, and end up failing, its kinda useless and makes u think that u basically abandoned John midway his rescue for no reason when u could have defended him against pinkertons
Helping John is the ONLY ending in which Arthur is not Killed by the Rat Micah bell if the players have High honor of course , he dies of tuberculosis, hipotermia from the cold and exaustion from the fight with Micah, in conclusion this is the "best" ending for Arthur in RDR2
@Dakota9513 he still gets Killed by Micah he gets stabbed in the back by Micah before their fight stars even if Arthur has High honor, he will die because of the bleeding wound and not the tuberculosis
In the low honor, he does officially gets stabbed in the back and you visually see him die. He does get stabbed in the back yes in the beginning of the fight, no matter the honor level. But he visibly dies from tuberculosis in both high honor endings. That is what i mean. And if we are going by him getting stabbed in the beggining and thats why he died, then also we could say that he pretty much got beat to death by micah if you help John. @Tesshu
@Dakota9513 well in my playtrough ive helped John escape and then in the fight with Micah i've managed to give him one heck of a beating he tryed to Punch Arthur but i kept pressing Square and circle like Crazy and after beating Micah his face was all bruised and swollen and Arthur was much better than Micah but still he died because of the TB
