I don't know about having a full game be about Bill. Bill is a great character, but he's just a side character.

But if the next Red Dead game wanted to explore the Wounded Knee massacre (or an similar to it) then maybe Bill could make a cameo.

I'd just like to see why he has anger issues and his reasons for his crimes in rdr1

His problems stem from many things:

• His time in the army. It's implied he saw awful things during the American-Indian Wars (I personally think he witnessed or perhaps even participated in Wounded Knee) which gave him PTSD.

• His implication that he's gay. Back then, homosexuality was seen as a mental illness and was completely taboo. As a result, Bill is insecure about his masculinity.

• More or less, he lacks direction in his life. That's why he clings onto Dutch so hard. Before Dutch, Bill was just a thug who preyed on the weak. When he joined the gang, Bill is trying to be a better person and became afraid of what he could turn into. But after Dutch went insane, Bill became something much worse....

• The last thing is how he was treated. Bill was constantly insulted by the gang, due to his stupidity and lack of articulateness. They also insult him for his homosexuality, with Tilly even calling him a "half-man". Bill pointed out the double standards of how the gang reacts when Arthur messes up ("It's just one of those things") to when Bill messes up ("He's a fool and prize idiot").

I certainly have doubts as to whether Bill is gay. I don't think there's much in the way of evidence for that, and he's implied to have had a thing for Abigail and slept with her at some point (hence his jealousy of John). The claim "they also insult him for his homosexuality..." seems pretty unsubstantiated to me.

Nevertheless, the rest of that seems fairly accurate. I like Bill as well, but don't think he'd make sense as a protagonist. Perhaps only if there was a prequel for RDR 2 and we explored each gang member's background, temporarily playing as them in a segment where their story is explored.

I dont think I heard anything about bill being gay

I don't really see the point. The makings of a good story is unpredictability. Sure, going into RDR2 we knew that John was abandoned and that Dutch went crazy, but that was about it. There isn't much we need to know about Bill that we don't already know.

A DLC expansion of Bill set between RDR 1 and 2 would be Great it could reveal to us players of how Bill formed his own gang likely from the renmants of Del Lobo gang
