I remember playing it around the time the game came out and I thought it was underwhelming. I expected GTA online but it's with RDR2 instead but it just felt like it lacked content.

Still lacking in content that's as good as GTA. Bounty Hunting is still fun enough I guess. Don't know much about the other roles thought gh.
Frankly, online is a let-down. Red Dead Redemption1: Online was more enjoyable & fun — connection issues aside.
As someone who is a hardcore Rockstar fan, logging thousands of hours in the single-player modes, and a BIG fan of the original release of GTA Online (still playable today, as long as you have a Op.Mark II on stand-by), I can say that my time on Red Dead Redemption 2: Online is most enjoyable when I’m playing with a fellow player, close friend, or Pose. that’s it.
For a better understanding of the story and universe, I STILL have yet to bring myself to play it through solo, let alone with friends. Makes me kinda sad ..
A lack of true bio-diversity, and limited number of strangers, random encounters, and things to do to make good money all make the online game feel way to dead, dry, and unrealistic. Single-player is jus’ waaaaay to juicy in comparison to the skeleton that is Online. Co-Op story-mode would honestly be better than RDR2:O.
You can’t even rob a f***in’ train with a homie Online .... Only in single player is it worth it & enjoyable. Isn’t robbin’ trains with your best mates what the Wild-West was all about? Why the F would R* take that away from us in multiplayer?
MICRO-TRANSACTIONS.
Something else I realized, you're not really an outlaw in a game about being an outlaw. The roles are all legal. There aren't any real robbery missions. It's very disappointing.
AMEN ^^^ PREACH
Someone go find Rockstar Steve & get him in here ..
WE. NEED. ANSWERS.
@Jodlad Didn’t expect to see you here
Literally errand boys, not even close to being at least Gunslingers.
GTA Online - Protagonist starts off as small time hustler who turns into a Criminal Mastermind with an Empire at their hands.
Red Dead Online-Former Prisoner saved from serving their sentence only to be forced to be a lackey with a cowboy hat without a Bandit/Outlaw role event though Dishonorable is given as an option
RDO is somewhat of a letdown, that's really true. The only thing where it definitely surpasses GTAO is that there's WAAAAAAAAAY less griefers. And it's somewhat fairer anyways, because you know, no fucking jet engines with strapped missiles.
I only play story mode
What do you think?
