Most important character I would say is Dutch since he's pretty much the catalyst for the entire Redemption storyline. Remove Dutch from the equation and the entire timeline unravels. As for my favorite character, I've gotta give the nod to John, although I do have some sympathy for Dutch. Although I don't always see eye to eye with his decisions and ideals, I can't bring myself to hold any malice towards Dutch since the man is clearly mentally ill and constantly overwhelmed by stress, thus making his condition progressively worse. Seeing him unravel and burn out makes me pity him more than anything else.

I also think Dutch is key, probably the most important character in RDR 2 in many ways (yes, probably more so than Arthur), as neither of the protagonists' lives would've been what they were without him, which is also true for many others.

Very simply, yes dutch is the most important, but personally the character i loved the most was sean maguire, seeing him get killed was up there with the most heartbreaking moments of RDR2, along with watching my arabian randomly walking off a mountain. RIP sean, RIP misty.

Hosea was probably the second most mportant as he was the one stopping Dutch spiralling out of control.The man that can Lenny was my favourite though.
