Most important character I would say is Dutch since he's pretty much the catalyst for the entire Redemption storyline. Remove Dutch from the equation and the entire timeline unravels. As for my favorite character, I've gotta give the nod to John, although I do have some sympathy for Dutch. Although I don't always see eye to eye with his decisions and ideals, I can't bring myself to hold any malice towards Dutch since the man is clearly mentally ill and constantly overwhelmed by stress, thus making his condition progressively worse. Seeing him unravel and burn out makes me pity him more than anything else.
