Personally, I don’t think there should be another entry in the red dead series. The story of the Van Der Linde Gang is Completed. But, if I had to have one, I would want it to be a spin off. I would want it to feature Landon Ricketts as the protagonist, after the blackwater massacre, he decides to flee America and make a new life for himself in Mexico, he tries to start a new ,but not being able to turn a blind eye to the beginning of growing tensions that could lead to a revolution in the country. Landon uses his experience and his skill to help protect citizens around the country. It will see him go deal some of the most corrupt politicians, battle some of the most dastardly outlaws, and seeking several ventures across late 19th Century Mexico. Landon will experience a way of life he had never experienced for himself, but will evolve him. He will make friends that will aid and be his side, he will also find have a love interest that he will talk with and spend time with. The majority of the Game would be in Mexico with it being bigger. The year would be 1899 ( Same as RDR 2) and the whole game would be set in that year only. The Antagonist would be a cruel Mexican Govenor and General ( Sanchez, Who becomes President Of Mexico in RDR 1, would be this antagonists right hand man) who has the President under his finger, who wants the Presidency for himself. He hopes to use his brutel force to create Mexico in his image in which blood could be shed and instability would ensue ( This would led into the boiling over of the revolution over the next decade to RDR 1). I could see the Game being super immersive and have tons of great ideas to be used. The title of the game in IMO would be Red Dead Resistance ( It would branch of from Redemption) it sounds nice and would reflect Landons journey and battle against the Mexican Government while wanting a new life for himself in new place. Overall, I think this is an interesting idea. But again, this is only hypothetical.
