I don't really like either. John's is better on its own imo (in RDR 1, anyway, I think it looks bad in RDR 2) although I think Arthur's can be vastly improved with a few small changes - more so than John's.

I think Rockstar chose outfits that fit John and Arthur well

I think the Gunslinger outfit for Arthur is good, but I prefer to have no neckerchief and an open collar personally. I also think the Summer Gunslinger looks good on Arthur, with an open collar and rolled sleeves. And I like John's Cowboy outfit too, I just wish they wouldn't reuse Arthur's model and just give it black hair and scars. If they just put a little more effort into John, it'd be vastly appreciated. So, because of John's rushed appearance, I'm going to have to say I like Arthur Morgan's Gunslinger outfit better.

I prefer Arthur's outfit over John's in RDR2, because of the fact John looks like he's built like a golf club in it. But the RDR1 version of his outfit is a lot better than Arthur's, so that's why I picked John's instead.

I like Arthur more as a protagonist but John's cowboy outfit looks cooler imo.

John’s outfit is simply too iconic not to win.
