They are exactly the same in every conceivable way, it's why neither of them have taken a second to think about how pointless their feud is

You might see that cuz we don't interact with the Grays as much, but IMO they're both equally inbred bastards

The Grays are only nicer than the Braithwates because they run Rhodes basically as Leigh Gray is the Sheriff, and the Braithwates pretty much KOS anyone unlwecome on their property.

The Grays are nasty but stupid.

The Braithwaites are just nasty.

Grays killed sean and he was a "decent" character.

Although the feud between Grays and Braithwaites was bad for Rhodes and Scarlett Meadows County as a whole, the Braithwaites are shown to be the most corrupt and amoral in their affiliation with the Lemoyne Raiders.

That stated, the whole shootout in “A Short Walk in a Pretty Town” is straight-up unhinged in hindsight.

Leigh Gray and Archibald MacGregor in particular were only guilty of being somewhat incompetent at their jobs. Aside from that, their setting up an ambush for the gang despite it resulting in failure was justified, when you consider that they had discovered the gang members were outlaws.
