It would be a really nice touch, and it's not super unlikely. Although I don't think it would impact the story.
Red Dead might’ve been a famous story that was just fiction in the hd universe
It might be that the Red Dead book in GTA V is actually the story of RDR, and if it is a true story or not is left up to us fans to figure out.
@PolishTheTortuga I really like that theory a lot. And I think it could be potentially true. It could also be a case where maybe the book actually is based on real events, but it's been embellished by Jack.
I mean let's face it, Jack wasn't there with John or Arthur for most of the things that happened in either of those games, and I seriously doubt either of them would personally tell him about all of the things that had witnessed or done.
I don't care what time period you lived in, there are certain things you just don't tell an impressionable child about. I would think murdering and robbing people is probably fairly high on that list.
@YesManHim Yeah, that's another thing as well. Like yeah, maybe Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 are connected to GTA's HD Universe somehow... But at the end of the day, does it even really matter if they are or not?
Red Dead takes place decades before any of the protagonists in GTA have likely even been born. So, the odds of anything in Red Dead or vice versa seriously affecting what happens in future projects seems pretty damn slim.
The chances are fairly low. And that's a fact. The Red Dead Redemption games started as a separate saga from the GTA saga, with the addition of mentions of New York City and California every chance the devs got, so it wouldn't make sense at all to evolve backwards on that key separation.
Yes
GTA is a very fun and quite well made game with a good story. However, it is also very unrealistic in some obvious ways, a handheld minigun and railgun for example, or crashing one plane into the back of another plane without crashing the second one, it's a little ridiculous. The maps of the worlds don't add up very well together, with some GTA games being set in copies of San Francisco and New York, and the real life counterparts being constantly mentioned in RDR 1 & 2. Red dead is definitely a little more serious and realistic, there are some unrealistic parts, but in the end of the day it is a more story driven game with a focus on very realistic graphics and setting, whereas GTA is quite based around being fun. The main argument for them being in the same universe is the various moments in which they overlap, like the stone hatchet and double action revolver in GTA online or a book written by J. Marston in GTA, but I think those are just cool but not very important easter eggs, knowing rockstar.
Someone with common sense has spoken, everyone kneel before them.
