Awww... :(
We've known this for a while now. Shortly prior to the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, Dan Houser stated Rockstar Games would be likely to develop another entry to the series depending on the success of the title.
The game was of course a resounding success, to put it mildly. So, aside from Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently echoing this sentiment in a general manner, this is really nothing new.
Of course, media outlets, YT channels, and social media figures would never pass up any opportunity to harvest clicks.
Wait a couple more years until more news drops. The main focus for Rockstar right now is getting GTA VI in 2024/2025.
I imagine RDR3 will be a similar case to RDR2's development where all subsidiaries of Rockstar are just merged into one company.
Good news for now but they could cancel it.
I doubt they’d cancel a new Red Dead game. Just be patient.
Can’t wait for us all in ten years to be like “Yeah Arthur was fine BUT THIS NEW GUY? Best RDR protagonist.”
"What do you mean I'm stuck playing as Arthur Morgan in the Epilogue???" 😫
I wonder if rdr3 is going to be another prequel to rdr2 like rdr2 was to rdr1. Or maybe it could be a totally new storyline like gta games.
That's great, until you remember pretty much all of the creative talent that made RDR2 such a good game is now long gone. GTA 6 will be a test to see how much the new people can handle a story like we expect.
Based off the last 5 years of Cockstars bullshit. I doubt GTA 6 and RDR3 will live up to the hype. And will show that Rockstar are no longer the Rockstars of the industry anymore. More like a decrepit rockstar in his 80s who still thinks he's in his prime, when in reality hes a shell of what he once was, and the golden years aren't coming back.
@WestVirginiaLoner God forbid you just let yourself be excited for something.
What do you think?
