It’s a vastly argued on topic that has no clear answers, I doubt Rockstar would give us a sequel to the sequel of the first game and a Jack Marston game would deviate from the ideals Red Dead Redemption are all about.
What are the likely choices?
We play as Colm O'Driscoll’s brother and learn more about them. Eventually we die to Dutch or something and we continue as Colm himself. We kill Annabelle for our “Redemption”. I like this idea the most because we learn about Dutch and Colm’s feud that feels like a barren idea currently. The “Redemption” aspect is straightforward and wouldn’t be the “perfect” ending any new player would expect. Depending on our honor we could shape just the outlaw Colm/Colm’s Brother was. I personally believe this is the most likely.
The legendary gunslinger man we saw in that one mission. Boy I forgot his name. We get BARELY any information on any of the slingers we kill so it’d be awesome to learn more about them. But…how would the Redemption aspect come in? The series would take a big turnaround if we followed this idea. Do I like it? Meh. They’d have to make a lot of things up from scratch and nobody really cares about the master gunslingers.
There’s probably no way this is going to be RDR3, but a game where we play as a Saint Denis lawman hunting down the members of the most deadly gang in the country would be super awesome. Picture this, we’re early in the game and have met a ton of people. Lawmen, residents, etc. and suddenly the gang of around 10-15 people ride into Saint Denis. They go on a rampage and kill 80% of the characters you’ve just met and rode with. Boom, there’s the redemption part. Evil gang rides in, kills a bunch of people you know and leave. You’ll hunt down the members 1-by-one and YOU choose your way of getting to them. Either with high honor or low honor. Ruthless monster willing to do anything it takes for the law? Or a noble lawman willing to commit on bringing justice to the monsters?
What do you guys think??? Will there even be a RDR3?
