Anybody aware of the shopkeeper's name at Manzanita Post in RDR1? Almost certain that he had a wiki page at one point but I can't find it.
I was such a big fan of Redemption that for me personally, Redemption II was never going to live up to it. I have still played around 1.5k hours of Redemption II but it did not leave the same impact on me.
No, they shouldn’t change the game just to make it more connected to it’s prequel.
Hopefully someone unrelated to the current storyline or at least some one distantly connected.
I too had this issue, about five years ago. I think starting a new save fixed it for me.
Appreciate the civility and 100% see where you are coming from.
I see what you're saying and you have changed my mind slightly. However I feel like the changes come quite suddenly and I wish his more emotional side was more prevalent all the way throughout as it showed him to be a decent character. Perhaps one day he'll grow on me and I hope he does, and my thoughts on him could be completely wrong that's just how I felt after my first play through and those impressions stuck.
Throughout RDR2 he's this nice guy and then all of a sudden he's not with very little explanation. Although his appearance in 1 was brief, I prefer it.
Very good idea, but I think having Arthur die and becoming John was far too predictable after RDR1, so this would be overkill. Would love to play as Lyle though.
I personally never felt connected to Arthur the way I was with John, at all even. I never found him as complex, John was a family man forced to return to life of crime just to be murdered in the end. Arthur to me always felt much more one-dimensional. sure he had an interesting backstory but in many ways he felt much more like a generic western character who shoots people and acts aggressive with emotion shown here and there. That is just my take away though.
RDR2 is beautiful visually, however in my opinion the story just isn't on par with Redemption. I also prefer the setting of Redemption in the sense that it feels like a spaghetti western. Revolver is a great western game for its time with a decent story and fun mini games.
John due to the fact that he was an extremely fleshed out character. Jack gets an unfair amount of hate due to the fact that John was a tough act to follow.
Story wise I would have made it completely unrelated to the story of Redemption but take place in the same universe as when prequels are made it can both enhance the previous game but also create flaws and plot holes that then dampen the experience of the original.
You're right to a certain degree. When replaying Redemption after 2's release it becomes noticeable how little foresight there was, which is fine, I wouldn't expect them to plan the story 8 years in advance.
Personally, yes. From the very start Micah had a coldness that just seemed like he didn't belong.
John's daughter was something I waited years to learn more about and was disappointed when there was no mention of it. I personally wasn't a fan of the Arthur dying and then becoming John as it just felt very predictable and by the time you know you have TB you can essentially guess what will happen in the end which takes away the shock factor that Redemption had.
Welcome, I hope you stick around.

Odd, have you tried restarting your game?
Did you purchase newspaper throughout your playthrough?
