Despite being beaten savagely, Arthur had a more peaceful death (yes, he canonically had good honour, and I won't hear otherwise), whilst John sacrificed for his family and was blown apart. I'd say John, because he had more to live for.

Well, I certainly didn't fucking cry, because I'm not a little princess, but I kept the very first Tennessee Walker to the very end (along with the black Shire from Hosea), so I was happy that Arthur stayed with it 'til the end. I was also happy that I got the canon ending (high honour, go with John). I intend to do both again on my second playthrough.
