For me it’s Valentine and I think that has something to do with the progression of the story. The gang is camped by Valentine in the beginning when everything is going well and everyone is happy. Valentine reminds me of that time in the gang where everyone is thriving. Saint Denis is a beautiful and very different city but it also gives me very different vibes. Especially in the end when the camps at Annesburg. Annesburg is probably the city that I dislike the most because it makes me think of the end of Arthurs story and how the gang is turning againts each other.

Surprisingly enough, I actually think it’s Lenny taking a bullet. Earlier I probably would’ve said the gang splitting up, but after I finished the game, I’ve actually started to think about Lenny’s death, and how different it was than any of the others. Every death in red dead seems to be build up in a certain way or they have some sort of conclusion (like cutscenes or journal entries) but the way they handle Lenny’s death seems so different at least to me. How sudden it happens and the fact that it’s during gameplay. And when he’s shot they don’t have time to mourn or even react. Arthur stays behind for a second, but continues to run with the others. And to me that tells a lot about their relation, how much Arthur liked Lenny and admired his optimism and way of thinking. And since Lenny is a character close to Arthur it may seem weird that his death is brushed off so quickly, but I think I understand why. It’s a little similar to Seans death - both their deaths were very unexpected - but that just makes it more real, more unfair. How quickly they are taking away from life in their young age and how Arthur doesn’t even get to mourn, but is instantly tossed into action. I dunno if this makes any sense at all, but, yeah, I think Lenny’s death is the most heartbreaking of them.
I’d say Lenny. I really liked his character and the missions with him were always entertaining. It also felt so personal when he and Arthur were together - you could really see how much he liked him. (Spoilers) I were of course really sad when Hosea died but even though they quickly brushed over it Lenny’s death was the most impactful to me - and the fact that Arthur seemed to be the only one to really care when he stopped at the roof. Lenny was young, naive and full of willpower and to see him die so early and sudden was very sad and made me think about his character and how meaningless he died, everyone rushing along to escape. Sorry about the rant i dunno what got into me, but yeah long story short; Lenny.
A quiet time is definetly my fav
