Tip which saved me a bunch of time on this - try to get the seat that gets dealt first (if someone is sitting there, go save outside of town & try again). That way you don't have to sit through the other players rounds if you go bust. You just leave the game & immediately re-enter, which resets the dealer. Much quicker than sitting through the unskippable rounds for the other players.

They also spawn just north of Beecher's Hope in the epilogue around the trail leading to the river.

Most will continue, but the one with the two prisoners (Black and White) restarts if you don't finish it with Arthur (so John will do the first few missions again even if you've already done them with Arthur). There may be other mission strands that do this, dunno.

There's also a lot of similarities between Jesse James & the in game historical character Otis Miller. The Strange Man youtube channel did an interesting video theorising that the hermit is a member of Miller's gang who killed him like Ford did with James.

How Penelope knew the name is a plot hole, sure.

As for the "Dear Arthur" thing, only the envelope needs to say Tacitus Kilgore. The Pinkertons, in the absence of any other info, wouldn't open it and check the contents.

Now, how Arthur knows the letter at the post office currently is from Mary or Levin or a package from Jeremy Gill etc and to him rather than from Pearson's Aunt....well, who knows?

Charlotte is a great relationship, IMO.

One of the things I didn't like about RDR was that pretty much every stranger mission ended badly for the stranger

(spoilers follow) The engaged Old Lady was crazy, so was the guy collecting flowers and the young woman you get medicine for. Sam Odessa died in the desert, the Chinese worker was addicted to opium, the treasure hunter didn't find anything. About the only 'positive' outcome for a stranger is the pervert who gets his favourite horse back. Even the non stranger characters like Bonnie or Prof MacDougall only got neutral endings. And of course Jack ended up kind of an outlaw like John, so basically when you look at all the actions John takes in the game he doesn't achieve much positive at all.

I feel they tried to address this in RDR2 with the way Arthur helps not only John and his family, but also the likes of Charlotte, Beau/Penelope and Albert Mason so that Arthur does end up having a positive affect on the world. Funnily enough the only stranger mission that is ONLY able to be done by John ends up badly for the stranger once again.

The epilogue would feature multiple examples of Jack being kicked by horses which explains why he's a dick to them.

There's a much easier way to do rank 10. Wait till a train is stopped at a station, sneak into the last carriage (enter from where it joins to the second to last so as not to be seen by the guard at the back) and take an item from the shelf (usually herbivore bait, I think). The guard will tell you to leave and you don't get any wanted level if you do. It counts as a robbery. Repeat 5 times for no bounty or honour loss.

Bad Timing from Gang Members

Had just got back from mission where Arthur gets kidnapped by O'Driscolls and Dutch starts saying he thinks Arthur's gonna betray him in the end. Then, immediately after that Grimshaw comes up and starts giving Arthur shit about not contributing to the camp recently.

I mean, even leaving aside the fact that by this stage he'd given more than $2000 to the camp, upgraded everything possible and the camp still had a cheeky $300 with nothing to spend it on, he'd only just got back from being kidnapped, beaten and shot!

And Dutch does nothing to try and rescue Arthur and then accuses him of disloyalty?

Man, their timing SUCKS.

The money isn't too unrealistic other than the Valentine bank job & treasure hunter missions. The total take for the bank job was nearly $20,000, they could easily have run off to Tahiti on that. Generally you get a few hundred at most from missions and if you're upgrading the camp & buying weapons you won't be loaded, but after that Valentine robbery I always had around $2k even with pimping out my guns and wardrobe after buying all camp upgrades.
