I bought RDR1 because I'm 13 and wasn't oof enough when it came out but I got RDR2 in June on my birthday and fell in love with it. I quickly played through the story (cried a bit), learned everything I could about RDR2, and it became my favorite videogame ever, I will probably pass it to my children. But I digress, I bought RDR1 and played until you get to Blackwater and I shut off my Xbox and went to sleep. Now keep in mind that when I first opened the game, I mean to start it for the first time l and not when I woke up, it said I needed xbox live to play and I'm playing on an Xbox one which I have xbox live on. But when I got back on the following morning it said it didn't save my progress because I don't have xbox live, I'm confused.
