Wth I actually wanted actual responses to this 😭
He literally didn’t that’s exactly why there’s a line of dialogue that quite clearly states Abigail stole the key from the gang when she claimed to Arthur that she ‘was always a good thief’.
I didn’t even know you could do this!
Stuff like this is what drives me away from platinuming these games
This is the same reaction I have whenever I hear somebody think that Dutch changed because of hitting his head.
I’m literally wearing the exact same fit rn for chapter two wtf
I believed the whole “noise” plan was a smart idea and perfect for the gang to accomplish to get out of dodge but Dutch’s execution of the actual plan itself was incredibly stupid. He made it way far too obvious that the Van Der Linde gang was still operating and located somewhere up north by killing Cornwall and massacring Milton’s men, plus allowing Colm O’Driscoll to escape from his hanging would have tactically been the smartest move to make since the Pinkertons wanted both groups dead, so allowing their to be another incredibly dangerous gang that is well known for leaving no survivors of their crimes who frequently and viciously rob stagecoaches and trains just the same as Van Der Linde’s men on a far larger scale with even the general public desperately demanding for the law to stop them just as much Van Der Linde if not more so, it would definitely leave the Pinkertons thinking twice as to what they should spend most of their resources on considering their dealing with a gang leader that has escaped death thrice at that point due to the loyalty of his men and killed all local badges while doing so, but no instead Dutch had to make it another stupid vendetta. Also the Native and Army conflict could’ve been far better handled too considering Dutch played way too heavy a part at murdering the soldiers at the ambush and proceeding to do so with pride through his words and actions that nearly got him caught, when he could have easily supplied the Natives with the stolen dynamite and perhaps some weapons and simply say that’s that. It really does show the man that Dutch chose to be when the times only grew darker.
I know I voted for Mary Beth (which if I’m honest I did purely because she’s the prettiest) but I always saw her as Arthur’s older sister role model and outside of the little one off conversations you can have with her from time to time, my favorite example to give of this would be how given the opportunity she would always ask about Arthur’s situationship with Mary Linton because she genuinely loves their story together but still sides with Arthur and shared her advice with him or support.
Lowkey I’m gonna be honest and say that out of all of these characters that SHOULD have survived it would be Kieran, simply because I feel it’d be more beautiful and beneficial for the story to have at least one character from the O’driscoll gang to survive the events of the gunslinger era similar to Sadie and Charles seeing as to how it was the long time rival gang to the very infamous Dutch Van Der Linde and it’d be nice to see somebody like Kieran to get his story out on both of these gangs in almost an enlightened experience of the world.
