A Test of Faith is a Stranger mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. The quest becomes available during Chapter 2.
Story
Deborah MacGuiness introduces herself as a leading amateur paleontologist in the nation. She vents that no university will hire her and have rejected her theories. She tells the protagonist about her career of gathering dinosaur bones. After partially excavating a large hip bone, she offers a reward for finding dinosaur bones throughout the world.

Trivia
- Because many dinosaur bones are in the regions which cannot be accessed by Arthur Morgan unless using glitches, players not using glitches have to complete this Stranger mission as John Marston.
- If a player collects all the Bones with Arthur using glitches to enter New Austin there is an alternative version of the final cutscene with Arthur reacting to the creature. This might be a sign that it was originally possible for Arthur to enter New Austin on game legal ways.
- Although Deborah asks for dinosaur bones, several bones that the protagonist finds do not belong to dinosaurs.
- This mission parodies early depictions of dinosaurs such as Richard Owen's Megalosaurus or Gideon Mantell's Iguanodon.
