Adler Ranch is a homestead in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online in the Grizzlies West region of the Ambarino territory.
In the main story, after "Outlaws from the West," the homestead is burned down.
Background[]
Adler Ranch was owned by the Adler family, consisting of Sadie and Jake Adler. The couple lived a happy marriage, sharing work around the ranch evenly, such as hunting and tending to horses.
Events of Red Dead Online[]
When the player first arrives at Adler Ranch, they will find Jake inside, who initially believes they have come to rob him, but eventually deduces that they are actually looking for work. Sadie walks in moments later, having just completed a supply run, and is shocked to see the player, holding them at gunpoint. Although Jake clarifies that the player is only there to help, Sadie continues to act suspiciously and warns the player that should they betray her or Jake, she would kill them without a second thought. Still, Sadie is appreciative of the player's assistance.
The player can then visit the Adlers again and receive more missions from them. Sadie will give missions during nighttime, while her husband is available during the daytime. Their missions give positive honor.
Events of Red Dead Redemption 2[]
In the beginning of the game, Arthur Morgan, Dutch van der Linde and Micah Bell visit the ranch in search of food and supplies, only to discover that the O'Driscoll Boys had gotten there first. The O'Driscolls had entered the homestead days earlier, killing Jake and dumping his corpse in a wagon outside the house, while Sadie hid in the cellar to avoid certain death.
After a shootout between the Van der Linde gang and O'Driscolls, Arthur and Dutch enter to homestead to search for anything useful to the gang. Arthur may point out clues hidden around the house, such as a photo of Jake and Sadie on their wedding day, and a pool of blood. After the pair finish, Dutch tells Arthur to look around in the stables and Micah to continue searching the home. As Arthur enters the stables, he gets in a fistfight with an O'Driscoll, who he can choose to kill or spare. After dealing with the O'Driscoll, he must calm a frightened horse and lead it out to the hitching posts.
As Arthur meets back up with Dutch, the pair hear commotion from inside. As they enter the cabin, they see Micah in a scuffle with a horrified Sadie, who is throwing plates and other objects at Micah, who thinks she's an O'Driscoll. Despite Dutch's criticism, Micah flips over a table with a gas lantern, causing a fire that set the property ablaze. After Dutch manages to calm down both Micah and Sadie, the gang takes Sadie under their wing and escape from the burning home, retreating back to their camp at Colter.
The ranch can be revisited after "Eastward Bound," when free-roam is unlocked to the player. If they revisit, the house will be completely destroyed with scattered remains of furniture. The stables, despite remaining intact, are locked.
Notes[]
- Players can find jewelry in a lockbox within the burned-down residence, which can also be found when the ranch is introduced in "Outlaws from the West".
- The cheat code Death is silence is written on one of the burned beams of the house.
- A random encounter in Red Dead Online requires the player to transport a lost woman to Adler Ranch first, then rescue her sister and also escort her to the ranch.
- A possible spawn point for the Panoramic Map may be located to the west of Adler Ranch, at a campsite with two frozen bodies.
