Alden can often be seen quietly patrolling the streets of Armadillo alongside Mel Thaxton or sitting in the MacFarlane foreman's office guarding the payroll safe. However, if Marston has a high enough bounty, Alden will join other lawmen in tracking him to multiple locations around New Austin.
He occasionally appears in a random encounter while exploring Nuevo Paraíso, which sees him taking part in the pursuit of a fleeing criminal. Choosing to help him can increase the player's Honor, but killing him instead will decrease it.
Events of Undead Nightmare[]
In Undead Nightmare, Alden can be found defending the town of Armadillo where he is inside the Cinema. If Armadillo is saved and Alden survives, he will be found standing by himself outside the Cinema's front door.
The player may also come across Alden fighting off a horde of the undead. Without the player's assistance, he will be killed. If he is saved, however, he will not offer a reward. Alternatively, if the player does not possess a treasure map, he may reward the player with one.
