Animal Fat is a crafting item found in Red Dead Redemption 2. It is used in conjunction with other materials for crafting special ammunition and throwables.

- One of the quickest ways to obtain large amounts of animal fat is by hunting ducks and geese, as they usually spawn in large numbers near bodies of water and are easier to kill than wild boars.
- The feathers and game acquired alongside when looking for their fat can render a good amount of cash and resources for the player.
- Keep in mind that excessive hunting of these animals in a short span of time (such as using Dead Eye to hunt multiple flocks) will result in a loss of honor.
- Domesticated pigs located in private ranches also count as a quick way of obtaining animal fat in a single area. However, these places are usually guarded by their owners. Hunting at midnight provides the best opportunity for this kind of undertaking.
