Annabelle is a mentioned character in Red Dead Redemption 2.

History[]

Background[]

Annabelle was either a member or associate of the Van der Linde gang, and had a close relationship with the gang's leader, Dutch van der Linde.

At some point prior to 1899, Dutch killed the brother of his one-time associate Colm O'Driscoll, who in return took Annabelle's life. Her death would start a long-standing feud between the Van der Linde gang and the O'Driscoll Boys.

Events of Red Dead Redemption 2[]

Annabelle was mentioned several times by Dutch, Hosea Matthews and Arthur Morgan in conversations between the three. She is also mentioned alongside Bessie Matthews by Jamie Gillis, if Arthur agrees to retrieve Jamie for Mary Linton. Upon hearing from Arthur that both Annabelle and Bessie had died, Jamie notes that it may have been good for Arthur and Mary's relationship to have failed lest a similar fate befall the latter, a sentiment Arthur solemnly agrees with. She is later mentioned during a confrontation between Dutch and Colm; whereas Colm admits he didn't particularly like his brother, Dutch coldly replies that he did like Annabelle.

Her death would be eventually avenged after Colm was arrested by the government to be hanged and any attempts to save him by his gang were dashed by Dutch, Arthur, and Sadie Adler. Afterwards, Dutch can tell Arthur that the death of Colm makes him feel like he "can finally say goodbye to Annabelle".[1]
