Bacchus Bridge is a railroad bridge in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online in the Cumberland Forest region of the New Hanover territory.
Background[]
Described as the "Gateway to the West"[1] the Bacchus Bridge is a wooden truss rail bridge spanning across a gorge along the Dakota River near the mountains of Ambarino. It is an important railroad connection in the southwestern United States, as without the bridge the rail line from Big Valley West Elizabeth to Annesburg would be cut off, and trains would have to divert south through Lemoyne to reach their destinations.
The bridge was previously the site of the great Bacchus Bridge train disaster prior to 1898, where a group of United States Army deserters faked their deaths by causing a train derailment that killed at least a dozen other soldiers.
Interactions[]
- "The Bridge to Nowhere" - John and Arthur are sent by Dutch with the dynamite stolen during the events of "The Delights of Van Horn" to destroy the bridge and isolate Fort Wallace while driving up tension between the Wapiti Indians and the United States Army.
- In Red Dead Online, the bridge can be used as a possible rival gang hideout, which the player can clear out.
- Following his death in "Red Dead Redemption", Arthur was buried by Charles northeast of the location.
