- The bridge is a good place to find Pigeons, Eagles, Hawks, and Turkey Vultures, which are perched on the railings which line the bridge.
- On the Big Valley side of the bridge there is a large sign that reads "Welcome to West Elizabeth", welcoming Train passengers, however on The Heartlands side of the bridge, there is none.
- Bard's Crossing is one of three railroad bridges that are labelled on the map, the two others being Granite Pass, and Bacchus Bridge.

- By the time period's standards, Bard's Crossing would be considered a "modern" bridge, being constructed from steel trusswork rather than timber.
