Bartholomew Braithwaite is a minor character in Red Dead Redemption 2.
History
Background
Bartholomew was born into the wealthy Braithwaite family to the family's matriarch, Catherine Braithwaite, and an unidentified father.
Events of Red Dead Redemption 2
Bartholomew can be seen alongside his mother and his brothers, Gerald and Gareth, when Arthur Morgan and Hosea Matthews ride to the Braithwaite Manor with some stolen moonshine. When Hosea suggests selling the moonshine somewhere else, Bartholomew threatens to Arthur and Hosea, pointing his shotgun at them and threatening them to hand over the moonshine. Eventually, Catherine lowers his gun and asks him to pay Hosea, in return for giving out the moonshine for free at the saloon in Rhodes.
Later, Bartholomew is seen in a meeting at Braithwaite Manor with Hosea, Sean, and later Arthur, alongside Catherine Braithwaite. Bartholomew stays relatively silent during the discussion, except while insulting Hosea, while Catherine commissions the trio with burning down the Gray family's tobacco fields.
Unlike the rest of his family, Bartholomew is absent during the Van der Linde gang's assault on the Braithwaite Manor. However, his brother Gareth appears twice, so it is likely that one of these appearances is supposed to be Bartholomew.
Events of Red Dead Online
Bartholomew appears as a rival moonshiner and a bootlegger for Maggie Fike. He is also working with Danny-Lee, to make their own shine.
