Baxter is a well-dressed man and the current manager of the Bank of Armadillo. He will defend himself if the player threatens or tries to rob him.
Events of Red Dead Redemption[]
During the Solomon's Follygang hideout, Marston can collect a reward from Baxter if he recovers a missing safe stolen by members of Walton's Gang and hauls it by wagon back to Armadillo, where Baxter will be awaiting besides the bank.
Baxter can usually be found inside his bank, either sitting behind the counter waiting for customers or doing paperwork at a nearby desk. He also frequents the local saloon at night and sometimes walks over to Eldin Grubb's funeral parlor to smoke outside. Baxter can also occasionally be found playing blackjack in Thieves' Landing or Rathskeller Fork.
I assure you sir, to respond to such outrages claim is beneath me!

Trivia[]
Baxter seems to be very prone to spreading gossip, as he spreads unfounded rumors about Marshal Leigh Johnson's alleged lack of integrity, as well as very unlikely stories about local gangs, locations, and even a tale about a cougar in Hennigan's Stead. If the player attacks him, he will angrily threaten to tell everyone he meets about what happened. However, he also admits that most of the rumors he spreads are made up.
Baxter also comments that a "bottle of McClure he ordered from Spaldings still hasn't arrived." Spaldings is a major luxurious clothing store that was featured in Red Dead Redemption 2, eight years after the original Red Dead Redemption released, and McClure being the Hair Tonic players can purchase in Redemption 2.[1]
