Bounty targets in Online are a selection of minor characters featured in Red Dead Online.

Overview[]

Bounty targets become available once the player buys a bounty hunter's license to unlock the Bounty Hunter Role. They can be hunted down and delivered to the nearest sheriff's office or bounty hunter's wagon in exchange for the price on their head. Living targets are worth slightly more money than those brought in dead.

Legendary[]

Legendary bounties are significantly more difficult to kill/capture than regular bounty targets, but also more rewarding. Each target has its own mission, with a short opening cutscene that explains their backstory and where they can be found. The player starts the mission near the target's location and must find them; the target is usually protected by gang members, wild animals, or other enemies. The missions can be replayed but require the player to wait for one real-life hour and increase in difficulty after each completion, up to a maximum of 5 stars.

The following is a list of legendary bounty targets:

  • Barbarella Alcazar - An infamous and ruthless outlaw, wanted for thievery, extortion, and murder. Also known as the "Bandit Queen", she is a member of the Del Lobo Gang and can be found at Gaptooth Breach in the State of New Austin, accompanied by numerous armed men loyal to her deceased husband, Ricardo.
  • The Wolf Man - An outlaw wanted for a string of murders. He has lived with a pack of wolves in the mountains for years and formed a strong bond with them. He can be found near Lake Isabella in the State of Ambarino, where he may be attacked by a Grizzly that the player must kill if they want to capture him alive.
  • Owlhoot Family - A gang of nameless outlaws wanted for murder, brigandage, and barbarism, including cruelty towards animals. Only the four senior members of the gang have bounties on their heads and can be found at separate camps around Rio Bravo in New Austin, accompanied by smaller groups of armed criminals.
  • Sergio Vincenza - A former military sharpshooter and outlaw wanted for the attempted assassination of Lemoyne's governor and promotion of anarchism. He can be found at his camp near Roanoke Ridge in Lemoyne, accompanied by his well-trained followers. From his watchtower, he can snipe the player with near-perfect accuracy.
  • Cecil C. Tucker - A criminal and arsonist wanted for burning down multiple homes and bringing about the deaths of innocent women and children. He can be found at Fort Brennand, where he is under the protection of the Lemoyne Raiders. If confronted, he will shoot to try and evade capture, so the player must restrain him with care.
  • Philip Carlier - A criminal wanted for embezzlement and the murder of a business colleague. Having lost all of his wealth, he now lives in the swamps of Lemoyne, near Lagras. He is protected by both the Night Folk and alligators, and will use both hallucinogens and a machete to try to kill the player before hiding out at one of three possible locations, requiring the player to find him.
  • Tobin Winfield - A corrupt politician wanted for misappropriation of public funds and the theft of valuable land deeds. He resides in Thieves' Landing, where he is hiding from outlaws who have taken to abusing him. When the player finds him, he promises to surrender once he has retrieved the deeds, which are hidden elsewhere in a secret burial spot. The player must escort him to the deeds' location and then to jail, all the while protecting him from the pursuing outlaws.
  • Etta Doyle - A notorious outlaw, and the leader of a gang consisting entirely of women, who are known to dress alike to confuse pursuers. She and her gang are notorious train and coach robbers and recently have been targeting properties owned by Leviticus Cornwall. Cornwall has set a trap for her, anonymously tipping her gang off about his freight yard in Saint Denis. The player must hide, wait for the gang to arrive, identify Etta, and capture her while fighting off her gang.
  • Red Ben Clempson - An infamous gunfighter and leader of the Red Ben Gang, who are responsible for numerous train robberies. The player meets with an informant in New Austin, who gives them a tip on Clempson's latest robbery in exchange for money. The player must then find the train, board it, and kill or capture Clempson.
  • Nikolai "Yukon Nik" Borodin - A Russian trapper, hunter, and outlaw, wanted for the kidnapping and murder of multiple men. He can be found at Fort Riggs alongside his gang, where he has taken a U.S. Marshal hostage with the intention of hunting him for sport. After all of Borodin's followers are killed, he confronts the player while holding the Marshal hostage, and needs to be killed or disarmed in a duel in order to save the Marshal; otherwise, the Marshal will be killed, and Borodin can be captured alive.
  • Gene "Beau" Finley - A young and flamboyant bank robber protected by a gang of hired mercenaries at his hideout near Shady Belle, which is fortified with explosives and machine guns. He also has hostages that can be freed. Finley will hide in his room unless all of his men outside are killed, at which point he will try to run for his life.
  • Carmela "La Muñeca" Montez - The cousin of bandits Jorge and Alfredo Montez, who are killed during the high honor branch of the online story. She assumed leadership over the remnants of their gang and led them to Hanging Dog Ranch with the aid of a stolen "war wagon", which she has used in a campaign of revenge against the law. Montez may spawn in the house, the barn next to the war wagon, or riding into the ranch from the side. If having entered the war wagon, she can be forced out through focusing shots at the compartment below the machine gun in which she is partially exposed.
  • "Shepherd" Virgil Edwards - The leader of the sacrilegious cult, the "Seventh Generation", whose members are recognized by an inverted seven on their forehead and plan to wage war against "non-believers". The player can track Edwards down by investigating the three camps of his followers in northern Roanoke Ridge. A note can be found that directs the player towards either Beaver Hollow or The Loft. Edwards may spawn in the back of the cave in Beaver Hollow or in the basement of The Loft. When fighting Edwards, you must first knock his armor off to restrain him. For the best result, shoot below his waist or use explosives.
