The Camera is a piece of equipment featured in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online.
Description[]
The camera has two modes that lets the player take front screen pictures and also a selfie portrait mode of the character. The player can customize the selfie with optional poses and facial expressions.
The photo studios in Saint Denis and Blackwater will take a professional profile photo of the player for $5.00. The studio has the same settings as if the player were taking the photo themselves.
The pictures can be viewed, edited in-game, and shared on Rockstar Social Club. The player can store up to 200 photos.
The camera itself appears to be based on the original Kodak camera, which was first patented in 1888.
Acquisition[]
In Red Dead Redemption 2, the player receives a camera automatically at the beginning of the second chapter when the gang arrives at Horseshoe Overlook.
In Red Dead Online, the camera is already an item in the protagonist's inventory at the start of the game. However, the advanced camera can be purchased in Red Dead Online, granting the player access to more advanced photographic tools.
