Warnings/Cautions[]
Cheats allow the player to access a variety of features and resources in the game immediately. However, in Red Dead Redemption 2, this instant gratification comes at a steep price:
- Using cheats will block Achievements/Trophies, being awarded to players on the PlayStation 4, or Xbox One.
- Using cheats will block game saves.
How to Enter and Use Cheats[]
Cheat codes are hidden within the world and must be discovered as the game will not register or accept a code regardless of its acquisition unless it has been located in the game itself. To add new cheats, pause the game and go to "Settings". Then press "Triangle" (PS4) or "Y" (Xbox) to enter the Cheat menu. Type in the cheat phrase below to unlock it; save the game to have it added permanently to the cheat menu. Once added, it can be toggled on and off.
Cheats that are linked to a newspaper require the player to have that particular edition in their inventory in order to successfully input the code.
Note: Cheats ARE NOT case sensitive and they do require the correct commas and punctuation.

Notes[]
- None of the weapon cheats give the Evans Repeater, LeMat Revolver, M1899 Pistol or the High Roller Double-Action Revolver, as they were were added to the game after it had already been released.
- Using the Outfit cheat doesn't give Arthur any of John's outfits, presumably to prevent spoilers as the cheat becomes available before the epilogue.
Trivia[]
- It is possible to save the game after activating cheats during the mission "Angelo Bronte, A Man of Honor". Once cheats are activated, the player must have autosave turned "on" before initiating the mission and the game will save once the final cutscene plays out. Then the player must load the autosave and skip Jack's party by going to Arthur's room and using the "sleep" option to advance time. Once Arthur wakes up, starting a Stranger Side mission or inspecting Mary's letter will allow them to save as normal.
