The Double-action Revolver is a weapon in Red Dead Redemption. Unlike single-action revolvers, the double-action revolver will cock the hammer, fire a round, and advance the cylinder with one pull of the trigger.

The Double-action Revolver uses Revolver Ammo.

Tips For The Double-Action Revolver

• Be mindful of the low amount of bullets in the cylinder and slow reload when in close combat, or you will be caught reloading mid-battle.
• At mid-range wait until a relatively clear target is presented and then unload lest your magazine empties before a kill is made.
• When fighting against a Double-Action Revolver using opponet roll and take cover until their magazine empties or only has an insufficient amount of rounds to finish an opponent.
• If caught reloading while an enemy is advancing equip a shotgun, or even the knife, to finish the opponent if the opportunity presents itself or else flee.

Obtaining

Single Player

• The Double-action Revolver can be found in the Tesoro Azul gang hideout. After completing the hideout, search a chest across from the room where the man was held hostage, and you will receive the revolver.

Multiplayer

• The Double-action Revolver is unlocked upon reaching Rank 17.
• The Double-action Revolver is the standard handgun issued to all players on competitive multiplayer game types on Las Hermanas.

• It can also be found in crates on Tumbleweed in competetive game modes

• The appearance of the Double-action Revolver most closely resembles the .45 caliber Colt New Service Revolver which employed a double-action trigger and was first produced for commercial sale in 1898.
• The Double-action Revolver also closely resembles the Colt Police Positive .38 Revolver.
