Nothing is known of Elvin's background. However, his clothing suggests that he may have once been a sailor or an enlisted member of the navy.
Events of Red Dead Redemption[]
Elvin can be encountered in various settlements throughout New Austin, usually driving a stagecoach. The player can use him to Fast Travel by paying a fee. He can also sometimes be seen in Thieves' Landing doing a variety of odd jobs. Occasionally, he can be found playing Liar's Dice in Escalera or Casa Madrugada, but never in Thieves' Landing.
