Máximo Cristóbal Valdespino is a minor character featured in Red Dead Redemption 2. He initiates the stranger side-mission "All That Glitters".

Máximo is a renowned explorer of whom much has been written about. His exploits include having had tea with the Viceroy of India, fighting in wars in South America, climbing mountains and swimming in the seas of the world - and having had many women. He has traveled to the American frontier to hunt for treasure.
Events in Red Dead Redemption 2[]
Máximo is seen looking at a treasure map, frustrated with his inability to figure out the maps clues. When greeted, he will state that he has been hunting for treasure on the American frontier for the last three months and mentions that this part of the United States reminds him a lot of Almería in Spain. He plans on traveling to the island of Shikoku in the Japanese archipelago in search of the legendary Tokushima Sapphire, and because he pre-booked passage he has run out of time to find the frontier gold he was initially looking for. Because of this, Máximo offers to sell the treasure map with the location where the Jack Hall Gang’s gold is stashed to the player character.

- He can be negotiated to lower the price of the map from $10 dollar to $5 dollars.
- In case he's scared away, robbed or killed by accident, and his map isn't collected, it can be bought from any Fence in the game for $1.
- Máximo can also become a witness if the player commits a crime in the area.
- Almería is the Spanish province where Spaghetti Westerns were often filmed.
- Máximo's mount is a Blue Roan Nokota.
