Flattened Cabin is an abandoned and ruined structure in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online in the Grizzlies East region of the Ambarino territory.

Background[]

At some point, a pine tree got uprooted and fell on the cabin, crushing it and its sole resident. This happened before the events of Red Dead Online in 1898. It hasn't been renovated by the events of Red Dead Redemption II in 1899.

Description[]

The Flattened Cabin is a single room dwelling. It can be accessed by running up the trunk of the pine tree and dropping inside. Only the front half of the cabin is accessible, the back half being blocked by branches, though a bed and wardrobe is visible. A ladder allows exit, as the door is locked. A fire-pit is out the front, along with several logs, and a stump holding the Hewing Hatchet. A path bordered by logs leads up to the cabin. A chair sits out the front. A small field with flowers is out the back, where a Black Bear will occasionally spawn.

Location[]

It is located south of Moonstone Pond. O'Creagh's Run lies to the northeast. The Face in the Cliff is situated just North of Moonstone Pond.

Notes[]

  • In the cabin you can find a lockbox containing the Homing Tomahawk Pamphlet.
  • Near the cabin, the Hewing Hatchet can be found in a stump.
  • Burdock Root and Wild Carrots can be found here.
  • Large jewelry can be found in one of the drawers.
  • Some users report seeing a letter glowing in Eagle Eye in the same drawer but have been unable to pick it up.

Trivia[]

  • The state surrounding area implies that the man that lived in the cabin is a bit of a craftsman and a lumberjack. Several trees have been cut down in the area, he also presumably has made a skiff and furniture for his home, yet the pine tree that fell down was naturally uprooted.
    • Beside the pine tree that fell down is a smaller, cut down tree. Cutting down the smaller tree might have weakened the root connections underground which led to the bigger pine tree being uprooted.
