Nothing is known of Gonzalo's background. Given that he is usually rude, well-armed and likes to gamble, he may possibly be a wandering mercenary.

Appearance[]
Gonzalo Barajas is skinny and has a slicked hairstyle underneath his hat. He has sideburns, a moustache and appears to be a bit shaven. He wears a light green buttoned-up shirt, with rolled up sleeves and some stains on it. He also wears yellow gloves and a yellow sombrero with a white band and some decorations on it. He wears his gun holster over his belt and wears blue pants with light brown chaps covering them. He wears brown boots.

Events of Red Dead Redemption[]
Gonzalo can most often be found traveling or playing poker in the Chuparosa or Casa Madrugada cantinas. He may also challenge the player to a duel, either if he catches them cheating or if they have low Honor, which will give him the opportunity to kill them and earn a name for himself.
Sometimes he can also be found riding a horse through the desert wastelands of Perdido or Diez Coronas.

- Similarly to Ambrosio Falcon, Delfino Zayas and Cruz Del Valle, Gonzalo never greets the player back or other NPC's when he's greeted, similarly to the outlaw characters.
- He wears a similar outfit as the American NPC's, Earl Driscoll, Bert Venter, Willie Henning, Ira Shelton and Jacob Ostenhaus.
