Hell Hath No Fury is a mission in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Mission Overview[]

The gang meets Hercule at the fortress of Cinco Torres, and prepare to clear the waters around the island so they can safely depart for America.

Story[]

Arthur arrives at the fortress to find Dutch and the gang arguing with Hercule over the boat he promised them. Hercule tells them they cannot leave yet because Alberto Fussar knows them and has ordered a ship from Cuba to come and attack. He tells them that if they help him kill Fussar before he sends word about them to America, then they can leave safely. Immediately after this, Hercule and the gang are told to get on the roof quickly, where they spot a large warship approaching just offshore.

The group get in cover and fire at the mass of soldiers who are running up the beach while Hercule prepares a cannon so they can fire on the warship. Arthur helps Hercule push the cannon into position, but the fortress is breached soon after. While Micah and Bill remain on the roof to guard the cannon, Arthur, Hercule, and Dutch head down to fend off the approaching soldiers while evading the warship's blasts. As more men begin to row in on boats from both sides, Arthur assigns Dutch and Hercule different positions to defend. Once the remaining soldiers have been eliminated, Dutch stays behind to hold off the reinforcements while Arthur and Hercule return to the roof and use the cannon to destroy the warship.

With the battle over, Arthur is told to meet the others at the boat so they can prepare to head home, while Micah meets with the captain and Dutch and Bill get Javier.

Gold Medal Objectives[]

  • Prevent 4 boats from reaching the shore.
  • Destroy the naval ship without missing a shot.
  • Complete with at least 70% accuracy.

Deaths[]

  • Numerous Cuban soldiers - Killed by Arthur, Dutch, Micah, Bill and Hercule.

Missable Items in the Mission[]

  • Sun Hat

Trivia[]

  • This title is derived from a line in the 1697 tragedy The Mourning Bride, the actual quote reading: "Heav'n has no rage like love to hatred turned, / Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned."
  • The Cuban warship bares a resemblance to that of the ironclad CSS Virginia, which was the first steam-powered ironclad warship built by the Confederate States Navy during the first year of the American Civil War. It was constructed as a casemate ironclad using the razéed (cut down) original lower hull and engines of the scuttled steam frigate USS Merrimack. Virginia was one of the participants in the Battle of Hampton Roads, opposing the Union's USS Monitor in March 1862.
  • This is one of the very rare times an NPC uses dual wielded revolvers (the others being certain enemies in "A Short Walk in a Pretty Town," "Our Best Selves," and Micah Bell).
  • Despite the fact that Hercule has to reload the cannon while it is being used to destroy the ironclad, the ammunition visible in the magazine does not move at all.
  • As a result of his Tuberculosis progressing, Arthur's well being will become “Unwell” in the Player menu after this mission, with his cores draining 5% more than usual.
  • When the gang first see the warship arriving, two little birds can be seen to Arthur's left before flying away. These same birds are seen again landing near Arthur before he walks away from the fort at the end. There is a belief that these two birds symbolize Hosea Matthews and Lenny Summers respectively as their "spirit animals", after their deaths in Saint Denis.
