Herman can usually be found doing a variety of odd jobs around the Pacific Union Railroad Camp. However, he has been known to loiter in the General Store at Armadillo and inside the Saloon at Rathskeller Fork or doing odd jobs in the garden, or feeding the pigs. He can also be found wandering around Ridgewood Farm.
Undead Nightmare[]
In Undead Nightmare, Herman can be found defending the settlement of Ridgewood Farm where he is inside the barn. If Ridgewood Farm is saved and Herman survives, he will stay inside the barn, on the first balcony with Charlie Bengle.

- In Undead Nightmare, he is armed with a Double-barreled Shotgun and is missing his hat.
- Herman shares the same character head with Clyde Evans, Milford Weaver, Louis Granger, Elvin Coggins, Clifford Ray, and Dewey Alcock.
- In Undead Nightmare, a rare glitch can occur where they there will be two Hermans one in front of the other, and they will do exactly the same actions at the same time.
