Horseshoes can seem random and frustrating if you do not know how to aim and throw. Here are some simple instructions that should allow you to succeed.

  +
*Las Hermanas
#Make sure to aim '''every throw'''. Zoom in (L2 on PS3, Left Trigger on Xbox 360) and make sure the peg is between the two sides of the shoe. Usually where your finger is pointing is the best spot to line the spike up with.

**[[Merche Coronado]]
#Swing back and forth. How hard you press the right stick and when you let go determines the strength of the throw.

  +
**[[Gregorio Rascon]]
#Try to let go of the horseshoe in the middle as the release point determines the angle of your throw. If you do not swing all the way back you will need to release a little late for the horseshoe to land anywhere near the spike. This is why it is best to swing back and forth before letting go.

Timing release controls the angle (which can be important) but the swing is even more important. Of course, luck matters most of all.

Don't skip to a turn; the AI does worse when watching them. When skipping, they will more than likely get both horseshoes in the sandbox. This is basically the hardest game to play in Red Dead Redemption. So it's best to try it after you finish the game and have every thing and such. So it's obviously an extra thing to do when your bored.
