Events of Red Dead Redemption 2[]
Colter Chapter[]
At the time that the Van der Linde gang robs the private train of Leviticus Cornwall, Cornwall was inquiring into the Jameson Mining and Coal Company's affairs. Archibald Jameson responded in a letter to Cornwall that the latter's concerns about rumored problems arising from Annesburg Mine's management were unfounded, and he invited the business magnate to Annesburg for a tour. The letter implies Cornwall was looking at the company as a potential acquisition, and Jameson was either uninterested in selling or oblivious to Cornwall's intent.
Beaver Hollow Chapter[]
In the mission "Money Lending and Other Sins VI", Arthur heads into the mine to collect the debt from Arthur Londonderry. However, the foreman informs him about his passing and redirects the player to his wife.
During “Visiting Hours,” if Heston Jameson, Archibald’s brother, had been met during Mayor Lemieux’s party in the mission “The Gilded Cage,”, Arthur will recognize his name, leading to dialogue where the prison guard Milliken will mention that Jameson’s brother owns the mining operation in Annesburg. Later on, in "The Delights of Van Horn,” Arthur and Bill steal a company coach loaded with dynamite passing through Van Horn Trading Post. During the ambush, all guards are killed.
In "Do Not Seek Absolution I,” Arthur confronts another foreman about his hostile actions towards Archie Downes. The foreman challenges Arthur to a fight. After winning the fight, Arthur sends Archie away on a horse.
During "Just a Social Call,” Dutch, Micah and Arthur overhear Leviticus Cornwall speaking with Didsbury, the representative of a miners' strike occurring at Annesburg Mine, and refusing to give into their demands. After Dutch assassinates Cornwall, the gang shoots their way through the mine's main building in order to flee from the town. Micah then gives Dutch some business documents he stole from the Jameson offices which reveal Cornwall had purchased a major stake in the coal company and had ordered much of the mine's dynamite supply to be moved to Saint Denis and resold.
