Jeb Blankenship is a minor character and stranger featured in Red Dead Redemption. He appears in and gives the player the stranger side-mission "Who Are You to Judge?".

Interactions

Marston meets him in Rathskeller Fork. He wants Marston to find his "love" in Tumbleweed. It later becomes apparent that his "love" is in fact, a horse named Lucy. Once the stranger mission is finished, he is still able to be encountered at Rathskeller Fork.

Trivia

• In the Tumbleweed cemetery, there is a tombstone of a woman named Grace Blankenship who died in 1907 and is survived by 'loving husband Jeb'. This might mean that Jeb was once married (Or possibly Jeb is just insane and "Grace" is just another horse, although it is unlikely that a horse would be buried in a human cemetery). It could also be a very strange coincidence, as Jeb never mentions that he has ever married.
• He and Billy are similar in several ways. Both of them are driven mad by their wives dying, so they both do crazy things, Jeb falling in love with a horse, and Billy keeping his wife's corpse around.
• Some time after Jeb's stranger mission was completed, the newspaper says that Jeb married Lucy in Rathskeller Fork and no one attended the wedding.
• According to the Unnamed Woman, her father had a similar "relationship" involving several goats.
• His name is possibly a reference to the store clerk Jed Blankenship from the movie Pale Rider, as they share a last name and the name Jeb and Jed are nearly identical.
• After you do his mission, as he is petting the horse, you can kill him and the woman that helped you.
• In Undead Nightmare some of the undead have his model.
• Jeb is apparently a zoophiliac. Zoophilia, a.k.a. Beastiality, is the sexual attraction of a human to non-human animals.
