The Legendary Tatanka Bison is a rare species of animal found in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online.

The Legendary Tatanka Bison is native to Hennigan's Stead in New Austin. This bison can be recognized by its short black hair and thick light gray hair around its hump and head. As a herbivore, it grazes on grains, hay, and corn. Long range weapons like a long scope rifle or a Bow with Improved Arrows will give you the advantage when hunting this animal.[1]
Killing the bison gives the player the opportunity to craft the rare Tatanka Bison Horn Trinket, the Legendary Boar & Bison Fowlers, the Legendary Bison Batwing Chaps, the Legendary Bison Vest and together finishes The Dreamcatcher outfit.
Red Dead Online[]
This subspecies of bison has been spotted grazing near Heartland Overflow. It can be distinguished from common black bison by the white coloring across its head and back. Large and muscular, these creatures will charged if provoked.[2]

The Legendary Tatanka Bison can be found in Hennigan's Stead, southeast of MacFarlane's Ranch.
In Red Dead Online, The Legendary Tatanka Bison can be found near Heartland Overflow.
Tips[]
Legendary animals always give a clean pelt or skin, therefore any weapon can be used.
In Red Dead Online, the bison has a higher chance of spawning between 9am and 6pm, in rainy and drizzly weather.
Due to its size the Tatanka Bison will take more shots than other animals to kill or sedate. This means it has a higher chance of running once the player locates it even after shooting it a number of times.
