The Legendary Wolf named Hotah is a rare species of animal found in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Description[]
The larger size of this wolf, and the distinguishable brown and black fur, make this animal easily recognizable compared to other wolves in the area. As a carnivore, his diet consists of deer, mountain goats, as well as small animals like bird, beavers and fish. A Bow with Poison Arrows, or a rifle, is considered to be the best weapon to hunt this animal with, although he can also be easily killed by impact with a running war-category horse.
Killing this animal will give the player the opportunity to craft the rare Wolf Heart Trinket, the Legendary Cougar/Wolf Vest and the Legendary Wolf Batwing Chaps.

The legendary wolf can be found in Grizzlies East, southwest of Wapiti Indian Reservation near the geysers.
Tips[]
- According to Compendium, A Bow with a Poison Arrow are the best weapon for hunting Legendary Wolf. However, Legendary animals always give a clean pelt or skin, so any weapons can be used.
- Technically, rifles or shotguns with Explosive Cartridges are the best weapon.
- The wolf is highly likely to ambush the player so crouching and moving slowly will help to track him without alerting he.
- Alternatively, players can draw a gun beforehand and simply let the wolf approach players instead (he always howls before charging).
