Levi Simon is a supporting character featured in Red Dead Redemption 2. He is the secondary antagonist of the game's fifth chapter.

History

Background

Sometime before 1899, Simon became the right-hand man and enforcer of Colonel Fussar.

Events of Red Dead Redemption 2

Soon after Arthur, Dutch, Micah, Bill, and Javier arrive on Guarma, they are arrested by a group of local soldiers, who Simon is leading. He escorts the chain gang for a while, introducing himself and the troubles he and Fussar are fighting at the moment, while Dutch attempts to negotiate the gang’s release, but to no avail, as Simon says that the soldiers need to verify who they are. Eventually, Levi rides off, after telling his men to shoot the five if they cause any trouble.

He is later seen with Fussar and the soldiers interrogating Javier. Levi is seen beating him and threatening him with various acts of violence if he doesn’t reveal the identity of the gang members who Javier landed on the island with. Simon and Fussar leave the scene before a shootout breaks out soon thereafter.

During the assault on Aguasdulces, Arthur breaks into the worker's cabin in the hopes of finding the ship captain, who is being held hostage. Levi immediately tackles Arthur from behind, punches him and holds him at gunpoint. But before he can harm Arthur any further, Dutch breaks into the cabin and holds Simon at gunpoint, only to be held at gunpoint as well by Fussar himself. A standoff begins, with Fussar and Levi trying to get Dutch and Arthur to give up, but to no avail. The standoff ends when Arthur kicks the ship captain a rifle, who uses it to kill Simon with a shot to the chest.

Character

Appearance

Simon wears boots, black pants with grey stripes, a white shirt with black stripes, a black waistcoat, black gloves and a light green hat. He has long grey-brown hair, a mustache and a goatee. He also wears a necklace with two rings on it. Another notable thing is that apart from a holster to the right side, he also has a whip attached to the left side of his gun belt.

Personality

Levi appears to be a ruthless person who does whatever needs to be done in order to protect Guarma's sugar plantation as he had no problem beating an unarmed and injured man for information or knocking out an innocent ship captain and taking him hostage. Also the whip on his gun belt heavily implies that Simon used it to beat workers or trespassers.

Trivia

The player can return to and loot his body after his death cutscene and collect his hat. Unfortunately, the hat can't be saved.
- However, the player can own a hat that's very similar to Simon's for the entire game by purchasing the "Worn Cavalry Hat" at a General Store/Tailor and selecting the variant at the bottom.
Levi Simon wears the same hat as Uncle, though the colors are slightly different.
He is one of the only two characters in Red Dead Redemption 2 to ride on a mule, with the other being Archie Downes.
